I am a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in oculoplastic, aesthetic, lacrimal, orbital and cataract surgery. I undertook advanced training in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery through senior clinical fellowships at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, and gained surgical periocular aesthetic experience at Moorfields Private and 152 Harley Street.I completed run-through ophthalmology training at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh, gaining experience across the full spectrum of clinical and surgical ophthalmology, including routine and complex cataract surgery. My undergraduate training was at Oxford University (Corpus Christi College, studying physiological sciences specialising in neuroscience) and Barts and the London, University of London (graduate-entry medicine).I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and ranked 2nd in the FRCOphth final exit examination.In addition to my research work (most recent publication in 'Eye': https://rdcu.be/b0zJV) I have also published a textbook for those studying for the FRCOphth Part 1 Examination (https://www.amazon.co.uk/FRCOphth-Part-400-SBAs-CRQs/dp/1909836362/) which has been independently recommended as a key resource for the exam (https://www.rcophth.ac.uk/examinations/candidate-tips/part-1-frcophth-tips/; https://pmj.bmj.com/content/94/1116/608.full).I am actively involved in teaching, and have taught for Cambridge, Edinburgh, London (UCL and Bart's), St Andrews and Dundee Universities. I am an assessor and clinical supervisor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and provide postgraduate training to ophthalmology registrars and fellows. Outside medicine my interests include judo, rugby, skiing, rock climbing and enjoying the great outdoors.
