If you use Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method, you will have no visible scars from a hair transplant. But if you use the Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) method, there will be visible scars.

There are two most popular hair transplant methods: FUT and FUE. FUT is a method where the surgeon will cut a long strip of hair from the donor area. He or she will then extract the follicles from the strip and graft them into the recipient area. Hence, there will be a long, visible scar on your head after the surgery.

The FUE, on the other hand, is a minimally invasive technique where the surgeon will directly extract the follicles from the donor area. The hair strands are then grafted without creating any big channels. This eliminates the need for cutting any strip. Hence, with this process, the scars on the scalp are so minimal that they are not visible. So you can say that you don’t get any scars from a hair transplant if you use the FUE method for the procedure.

You don’t get any scars even if you use the Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) method. DHI is an updated version of the FUE method where a small pen-shaped tool is used for extracting and grafting hair follicles. So, even the DHI procedure is minimally invasive, and there are no visible scars after hair transplantation.
